Description
A short animation depicting an ancient Iranian cavalry looking at the horizon atop the Alborz Mountains. Since the Achaemenid Empire, these powerful horsemen emerged from northeastern Iran (Khorasan), defending Iran’s borders and shaping its military traditions. These cavalry forces, who reached the peak of their power during the Parthian Empire, were divided into three categories: archers, cataphracts, and a semi-heavy cavalry capable of fighting on foot. These riders, considered the predecessors of medieval knights, were armed with bows, swords, axes, and maces.
