Description
Behzādān, also known as Abu Muslim Khorasani, is one of the greatest generals in Iranian history. Through his uprising, he managed to destroy the Umayyad Caliphate, an enormous empire that spanned from Spain to India. Behzadan was determined to establish an Iranian government, but he was not given the opportunity and was killed by Mansur, the second Abbasid caliph, in a cowardly manner. Therefore, Behzadan can be regarded as the initiator of the first uprising of Iranians against the Arab invaders (after the Battle of Qadisiyyah). He paved the way for other great Iranian generals, such as Bābak Khorramdin, to continue their struggle to save Iran.
